Well it’s just another day here in America. I turned on the TV while scoffing down a tuna on English muffin when – lo and behold – another school shooting. Turn on my news channel these days and all I hear now is shootings or a local mom screaming at a school board meeting about porn in the library or the Governor worried about the effect of drag shows on our children. Or awaiting the indictment of Donald Trump – which will come any day now.
All before the thoughts and prayers, flowers, memorials, crying kids and talk about bringing us together and moving on. Which is exactly what we do.
Move on.
In a month no one will remember three dead kids and three staffers killed at a Presbyterian elementary school in Nashville today except their families. Some f..cking fascist undoubtedly will say today that if the teachers were armed this might not have happened.
Our Duce governor is ready to sign a concealed carry bill covering everyone and has indicated he would sign an open carry bill if it got through the fascist dominated legislature.
At the VERY SAME TIME. the bastard will not allow anyone to bring a weapon into his campaign rallies. He ia as big a hypocrite on this issue as they come. Carry your guns everyone! Except near me or my wife or my kids.
Same shit goes for the annual NRA convention. No guns in the hall when members of the “Leadership Group” are in attendance.
And the decrepit Supreme Court. Ok to carry your guns anywhere – but not in here. No guns, replica guns, electric stun guns, ammunition, martial arts weapons or devices, and fireworks. No knives of any size and any pointed objects (Pens and pencils are permitted). Oh, and no razors or box cutters. Or food of any kind, including unopened drinks.
No guns in the visitor’s balcony of the House or the Senate. Or the Florida legislative chambers.
Nope.
No f..king guns allowed in there.
Everywhere else is OK. Just not near those who make the laws. Or their wives or children.
Its disgusting!!! that with all of these shootings they just get shoved under the rug until the next one , then they discuss doing something about it, but do nothing, nothing changes, shame on them for not having something in place protecting our children and school staff. I guess shame on us too for depending on someone else to protect them, I think its time communities come together to make that change, screw the government they have proven for years now that they are not going to do a damn thing. Too many senseless deaths. 🙏

Hi PJ. Tennessee has some of the weakest gun laws in the United States. Their Representative in the House, Tim Burchett, whom they elected, has already send his “thoughts and prayers.” He is, of course a Republican in a very red state. He is one of those who has been blocking even the most sensible gun reform.
They reaped what they sowed.
It has been reported that the killer was a woman. In fact, the killer was a trans-woman. Burchett has already called for release of the “manifesto” found in the home of the trans-woman.
“Our trans youth are troubled.” The discussion will now turn to trans-persons and mental illness. Nothing will get done on gun control.

Not much more to say, except that you are 100% correct. If I had family in Florida, I’m sure I would be urging them to move to somewhere else. (Not to Nashville though, obviously. Probably Canada, or England.)
Best wishes, Pete.

I am waiting to hear the name of the ‘well regulated militia’ to which the shooter belonged.
Oh and I forget to send my thoughts and prayers for the innocents.
