“God Save the Queen Man!”

Ok.  We’ve heard a lot about Joe Biden being too old to run again.  He and I are the same age.  And I can’t imagine running for President next year and then serving until I was 85.

But that’s me.  Whst about Joe?

Joe has always been one for gaffes.  He’s never been a great speaker. but IMHO he is getting worse.  He is clearly showing his age.

He has reached the point where he needs to stay on script.  When asked a question one never knows what will come out of his mouth.  His staff simply holds its breath.  His walk, as is mine, is showing his age.  He fell a couple of weeks ago after a speech at the Air Force Academy.

Since his inauguration, Biden’s verbal stumbles and overblown claims have caused endless headaches for the staffers who must clean up — or try to prevent — his rhetorical messes.

One of Biden’s most atrocious verbal misfires in his long career of gaffes came when he sought out Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski at a White House conference — eight weeks after her high-profile death.

“Representative Jackie — are you here? Where’s Jackie?” the president asked from the podium, peering futilely about the room. “I think she was going to be here,” he added.

Biden’s performance at a White House celebration of a new gun-control law was nothing short of gaffe-tastic.

First, he yelled at a grieving father who lost his 17-year-old son in the Feb. 14, 2018, massacre at a Florida high school.

“Sit down! You’ll hear what I have to say,” Biden snapped at Manuel Oliver, as the bereaved dad angrily heckled the president for not doing more to curb gun crime.

Three minutes later, Biden confused his centuries as he described the horrific attack that killed Oliver’s child.

“Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida — 1918, 17 dead, 17locinjured,” the president railed, without realizing his mistake.

He’s done it over and over since elected.  I could fill up a couple of blog posts with his cringe worthy comments.  Like speakng in Israel of the “honor” of the Holocaust rather than the “horror.”

“Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks,” the president declared at the State of the Union address, less than a week after Russia launched its invasion. “But he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, seated behind Biden on the dais of the House Chamber in the US Capitol, appeared to grit her teeth and murmur “Ukrainian” as her oblivious boss plowed on, unaware of his error.

It’s time to stop the “Well you know Joe!” routine and admit he cannot serve another five years.

Yesterday Biden spoke to gun safety advocates and survivors of gun violence for about 30 minutes at the University of Hartford and got through his scripted speech.

How did he end it?

With the phrase “Alright?

God save the Queen, man.”

I’m now convinced he should not run, opening the field to younger Democrats.  If he doesn’t, we will have the choice of Trump, perhaps running from prison and a really old man with clear cognitive ssues.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

Hopefully he will reach that conclusion soon.

High time he hung up his hat. Running again will be a disaster for the Democrats and let the Republicans back in. He needs to have a justifiable ‘medical reason’ for stepping down gracefully, before he does real damage with one of his verbal stumbles.
‘God Save The Queen’ will take some beating though.
    Best wishes, Pete.
