This was written and posted several years ago just before the G.O.P. National Convention here in Tampa Florida. It didn’t go over too well with the locals!
The unsightly were removed from view
lest you be offended
We’ve moved the homeless out of town
lest you be reminded
We’ve scrubbed the airport nice and clean
panhandling is illegal
they’ll be no beggars in our streets
lest you find them disconcerting
Lots of cops and cameras
to ensure you get your rest
no hippies will cause any trouble
you won’t hear their wails of protest
The strip clubs will be open late
lots of talent here
a private booth for a private lap dance
you wouldn’t want to be conspicuous
Rent boys too if that’s your thing
young man’s got to make a living
just swallow your hypocrisy
to let it show would be distasteful
Plenty of tear gas at the ready
in case of any trouble
We welcome you to our fair city
nothing seen will be objectionable.

Reminiscent of Disneyland and Singapore. In Singapore they put you in jail for littering.
