Tidbits

We;; you all know it was a fun weekend here in America – again.  Bit here are some tidbits you might have mssed.

First to Texas and the mass shooting at a shopping mall in Allen, north of Dallas where 8 people died before the killer was gunned down.

The gunman has been identified as Mauricio Garcia, who worked on and off as a security guard and lived at a motel.

In addition to body armor, he was wearing a patch with the letters RWDS.  The patch has been associated with neo-Nazi groups and sands for “Right Wing Death Squad.”  His on-line social life indicates an affinity for nazi websites.

In 2008 he was discharged from the military for suspected mental issues.  I guess that was not enough to get him red flagged in Texas.  Apparently he had no trouble acquiring weapons and body armor.  After all, he was a security guard and a law abiding citizen.

Foolish man.  He was used by internet trolls and influencers.  He never realized he wasn’t going to be “white” enough to a ne0-Nazi white supremacist organization.  He was one of the “replacemens” they want to keep out.  He did the killing.  Now he is dead.  Used by right wing extremists to get their patch o the national news.

Last Saturday we had the Kentucky Derby in Louisville attended by 150,000 well dressed men and women in hats drinking mint julips.

It was all fun and covered for about 6 hours on national TV.  Much too long for a two minute race.

The discussion of the future of horse racing seems to be popping up more regularly these days. The greater regularity of the topic probably started in 2019, when Santa Anita Park in Southern California had an unprecedented rash of horses suffering fatal injuries, with 42 horses dying and shutting down racing for three weeks at the track. It’s the same again now, at the end of Kentucky Derby week, as seven horses died at Churchill Downs, including two on Derby Day itself.

Derby officials called it an ‘anomaly.”

So, is this like the new normal?  Seven horses die at the track during Derby week?

As usual with just about everything, in horse racing there are too many people with too much money and too many interests to find out what is really going on.

Who is drugging the horses?  They don’t just keel over and die.

Child labor the way it used to be.

Meanwhile, in the mid-west more than 100 children—some as young as 13—were employed in hazardous jobs cleaning equipment like skull splitters, brisket saws, and bone cutters in meatpacking plants in eight states over the course of three years.

The children were employed by Packers Sanitation Services Inc., a Wisconsin-based staffing agency that fills open jobs in the food-services and agricultural industries on a contract basis. PSSI is owned by the Blackstone Group, and paid $1.5 million in penalties for the violations.

F..king peanuts for Blackstone.  Their CEO could have written a personal check.

The Dept. of Labor’s investigation turned up even more children employed by PSSI in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, and Nebraska.  “Make no mistake, this was no clerical error or actions of rogue individuals or bad managers. These findings represent a systemic failure across PSSI’s entire organization to ensure that children were not working in violation of the law.”

The children worked at factories owned by companies including JBS Foods, Tyson Food Inc., and Cargill Inc., the DOL says.

But hey!  Who cares!  They’re immigrant kids!  You know!  The ones that cross the border!  The ones the GOP don’t want here!  Except of course to hire them on the cheap through a contractor (no benefits – not employed by us at the meat packing plant) to work the night shift cleaning up bloody floors and killing machines at a slaughterhouse.

Just like the good old days.

Finally, a note or two about sex.

You’ve all heard the words “Different strokes for different strokes” when it comes to what excites humn sexual desire.  Straight men attracted by the height of a woman, her breasts, bottom or legs.  Her face.  Her personality.  Submissive?  Dominant?  Homosexual and bi-sexual men. Julus Caesar was “Every woman’s man and every man’s woman” according to hs troops.

Lesbians.  Same for them.  Come with all different turn-ons.

Bondage aficionados.  Masochists.  Furries.  Masters, mistresses and slaves.  The diversity of human sexuality is astounding.

This week I read an article in “Business Insider” about a woman earning some $60K a year selling pictures of her feet on line.  Her dirty socks go for $500.

🙂

“Chrissy” took off her shoes, then her socks, placing her feet on the damp ground. Pulling out her phone, she pointed it downwards to show only her legs and feet, then took off, sprinting through mud. Afterwards, she filmed herself cleaning her dirt-caked toes.”

The task didn’t faze “Chrissy”, a 32-year-old erotic content creator on the website Fun With Feet. She said that the client who requested the video, which cost him $300, is a major “Lord of the Rings” fan. Though she found his request strange, she understood the assignment, which the client said was inspired by a scene in the movie “The Hobbit.”

Chrissy told Insider she’s been selling photos of her “elegant” size seven feet on the website for three years. She originally joined Fun With Feet to make extra money, and now averages $5,000 each month in sales, Chrissy said. It’s been so lucrative that, for the past six months, she’s made it her full-time job.

She got into the business during the pandemic when her jobs as a hairdresser and bar tender started to disappear.  Now she spends between three and five hours a day, five to six days a week, maintaining her business. Chrissy said one day she might shoot custom photo or video requests, while another could be spent mailing out her used socks to clients.

She said she’s open to almost any request, but puts her foot down if a client asks to have someone pee on her feet.  Being a client of Chrissy’s isn’t cheap. She said she charges between $300 and $500 for most of her customized videos and photos, and will adjust prices depending on the specificity of the request.

She said she plans to continue selling feet photos until she gets sick of it, but doesn’t anticipate that will be any time soon.

Now that’scapitalism!  You go girl!

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

I am tired of hearing mental health being blamed for these mass killings. There is mental health issues in every country but not mass killings. Other countries have strict gun laws. We have thoughts and promises……

You’re absolutely right Don. Assault weapons belong on the battlefield, All guns should be registered and reregistered if sold, just like a car. Every gun buyer should get a thorough background check and have to wait several days until the check is completed. Every state should have a red flag law.

      Don’t hold your breath. Regards

I have no problem with Chrissy playing the system to live her best life. Well done to her.
Killing the horses for gambling profits and stud fees is unforgiveable. But it goes on over here too, and is the favoured sport of Queens and Kings. So it is unlikely to ever stop.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Yes, corporations the size of Blackstone do not make these kind of accounting mistakes. They likely have the equivalent of an actuarial table to help them navigate the potential risk to inhumane behaviours.

I cry for the failure of the great American experiment. So much potential and so much disaster. I hope we here in Oz don’t go down the same rabbit hole.
