Ah yes!
The ignorant of Florida made headlines again. Seems like they want their children to grow up as ignorant as they are. It makes me wonder whether to laugh at such stupidity or cry.
The principal of Florida’s Tallahassee Classical School is out of a job after parents complained that their sixth-grade children were shown Michelangelo’s 16th century “David” sculpture, with one parent calling it “pornographic.
The now-former principal, Hope Carrasquilla, told HuffPost the situation was also “a little more complicated than that,” noting that the usual protocol is to send parents a letter before students are shown such classical artwork.
Due to “a series of miscommunications,” the letter did not go out to the sixth-grade parents, and some complained, Carrasquilla said.
One parent was “point-blank upset,” Carrasquilla continued, and “felt her child should not be viewing those pieces.”
The board of the charter school decided Monday to give the principal the choice to resign or be fired after less than a year in the job. She was the school’s third principal since it opened in the fall of 2020, per the Tallahassee Democrat.
I wonder why.
The Tallahassee school is a public charter institution “that focuses on classical learning, a teaching philosophy centered on a traditional Western liberal arts education that aims to impart critical thinking skills children can use throughout their lives.”
They’re full of bat shit.
The Tallahassee Classical School is affiliated with Hillsdale College, a conservative Christian institution that has sought to expand its influence over the last decade by helping set up public charter schools.
Hillsdale has raised funds for the charter school network by pledging to fight “leftist” and “distorted” teaching of American history, such as the lessons about slavery contained in The New York Times’ 1619 Project, the newspaper reported last year.
Carrasquilla said she had taught in classical education for a decade and knew that “once in a while you get a parent who gets upset about Renaissance art” — hence the letter. She was not surprised by the reaction from the school board chair but the fact that other board members went along with him was unexpected.
The Chairman, Barney Bishop stated “They didn’t like the woke indoctrination that was going on,” referring to the objecting parents.
Some “classical education.”
Let’s take a closer look. These were 6th graders, which means they were 12 years old, some going on 13. Half the girls are already old enough to be menstruating and are dressing up each day to attract boys and be “popular”. These days millions of thirteen year-old boys are already on the internet secretly watching Pornhub.
The internet has EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about sex.
And so the kiddies are taking a class on the Renaissance. Very “woke.”
And our instructor shows the kiddies a picture of one of the greatest works of art every created by man. It was created to stand in a cathedral.
But oh! A parent goes wild.
His pee pee is showing!! And his bottom!
It’s “pornographic.”
The kids secretly laughed.
The individual who made that comment is a moron and the child will grow up the same.
What the Board should have told the parent is this:
“If you believe that a picture of the “David” is pornographic, perhaps your child in in the wrong school.”
And it goes on.
A textbook publisher eliminated all references to race from a draft lesson about civil rights icon Rosa Parks because of their interpretation of Florida’s Stop WOKE Act.”
In the second version of the lesson, the mention of race is removed completely.
“She was told to move to a different seat. She did not. She did what she believed was right,” the textbook passage read, according to the Times.
They left out and important detail about Rosa.
She was black.
They have already navigated the ‘slippery slope’, and are now happily descending into the abyss. Bring on Gilead!
Best wishes, Pete.
