Toritto and family dodged a bullet as Hurricane Ian came ashore as a strong Cat 4 storm some 100 miles south of his home.  Pam and I were together while we had only moderate rain and winds.  Power was lost for about 5 hours but all in all we were fine.

Not so the southwest of Florida, ravaged by 150 mph winds and 20 inches of rain.  It was certainly one of the worst storms in history.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

God to hear you and your family are safe.
I thank God that all my family and friends that live in FL are safe also.
I see where that governor has asked for millions to help the recovery. This requests comes from a hypocrite who, as US congressman, voted NO on federal aid to NY and NJ when they were hit bad by a hurricane. At least Trump threw paper towels to hurricane victims.

It has been headline news over here, and I admit I was worried. Happy to hear you missed the worst by 100 miles, Frank.
    Best wishes, Pete.

I has been so long since the west coast, especially in the Tampa area to ever see such a storm, I don’t think they really knew what to expect. And you really can’t plan for those floods!
