The Raped and Pregnant Ten Year Old

Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakoka.  She doesn’t look like a fascist.

You’re a ten year old girl in Ohio living a kids life and doing what ten year old girls do.  You are young, innocent and know little of life.

You are raped.  You miss a period. You are pregnant.

You can’t get an abortion because six weeks and 3 days have gone by since the rape.  That’s just one period,  An adult might not be sure she was pregnant, let alone a ten year old.

But since the overturn of Roe, six weeks is the rule in Ohio.  No exceptions for rape or incest.  And our ten year old was raped six weeks and three days ago.

Sheis seen by an OBGYN specializing in young abuse victims.  Our doctor cannot perform an abortion under Ohio law.  He calls a colleague in Indianapolis, Indiana where the abortion can still be performed.

Our ten year old is packed off to Indiana where the pregnancy is terminated.  While the abortion was legal, it won’t be for long.  The Indiana state legislature will convene to address the issue and further restrict abortion on July 25th.

Indiana doctors have received “an insane number of requests from Ohio and Kentucky, with out-of-state calls jumping from between five and eight a day to around 20.”  Soon they too will be out of business.

But the case of the 10-year-old girl has placed prominent anti-abortion political figures in the position of balancing the rights of women and girls – including abuse victims – while defending abortion restrictions.

Take Republican governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota, mentioned as a potential running mate to Donald Trump in 2024.  This bat shit crazy bitch is a genuine Christian fascist.

When asked directly about the situation of the ten year old girl on CNN, she hemmed and hawed, ducked and weaved.

Of course, she found it to be “incredible” that “nobody’s talking about the pervert, horrible and deranged individual that raped a 10-year-old”.

Cases of incest and rape are not an exception under South Dakota’s law as it stands.

On Friday, the state also banned medical abortion by telemedicine and increased the penalty for the unlicensed practice of medicine when performing abortions.

Dana Bash, CNN’S State of the Union host, pressed Noem on whether it was right for a 10-year-old rape victim who was pregnant to have to cross state lines for a legal abortion.

Seeming to try to deflect, Noem said the rape of children is “an issue that the supreme court has weighed … as well”, adding that the public should also be “addressing those sick individuals [who] do this to our children”.

Asked if she would seek to have the law changed if a similar case occurred in her state, Noem replied: “I don’t believe a tragic situation should be perpetuated by another tragedy. There’s more that we have got to do to make sure that we really are living a life that says every life is precious, especially innocent lives that have been shattered, like that 10-year-old girl.”

Asked if the girl should have to have the baby, Noem responded that “every single life – every single life is precious. This tragedy is horrific. But, in South Dakota, the law today is that the abortions are illegal, except to save the life of the mother.”

Yes, we know.  It’s god’s will.

You women in South Dakota deserve what you elected.

It is the 4th of July and we are less free than we were a year ago.

Don’t let the music and fireworks fool you.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

Heartbreaking, Frank. I have been struggling with today and what it means. I think the phrase that fits it best for me is that until all are free, no one is free.

As they celebrate, they conveniently forget that the independence of that tragic youg girl was not included. What a country to live in…
    Best wishes, Pete.

No comment that would be acceptable in your post on this ‘holiday’. This horrible person…hope my neighbors to the west reject this terrible person! And to the east, a GOP running for governor gives thoughts and prayers to dread and wounded who were watching a parade in his state, and ended up by telling the citizens to shuck it off and go back to enjoying the holiday.
