Yes, my Congressman joined the attempted coup by the Great Leader in front of the Supreme Court this week by signing on to thee Texas / Red state suit to have the votes of Pennsylvania. Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan invalidated.
Gus Bilirakis represents my district, the Florida 12th Congressional District. Two other Florida representatives including Mario Diaz-Balart of Miami also signed on. Calling the pandemic a fraud, he was the first member to test positive in Congress.
Diaz-Balart is always so concerned about repression in Cuba but apparently has no problem with over turning an election and imposing it here.
Back to my Congressman.
Bilirakis won this district with 66% of the vote here. He has been in the House since 2006. jumping into the race after his father Michael announced his retirement from Congress after 24 years.
Born in Tarpon Springs. America’s largest Greek community, he ahs faced no substantial opposition. His seat has never been in danger. He has worked hard for veterans. And he loves to tout how he works in “a bipartisan way.”
So why did he shame himself by signing on to Trump’s coup attempt? And be assured it was an obvious coup attempt, averted only by the votes of the 3 Justices he appointed.
Congressman Bilirakis, do you really believe Trump won then election? That he will not continue in office due to massive voter fraud?
Really? If you do you are dumber than I thought possible for a man in your position.
If you don’t , if you believe Trump lost, why did you sign on to an attempt to overthrow the election? Your support for Trump and the Texas / Red state suit was a direct attack on our democratic institutions. You quietly signed on. There is no mention of your support on your website.
And I’m sure after Trump leaves office you will never mention your support again, afraid if you did not support the coup attempt you might draw a primary challenger from the Trump nest you have helped create.
Can you not see you lent your support to a would be tin pot dictator, a fascist.
Your quiet support to curry favor with the increasing radical right while touting your work for veterans is despicable.
Congressman, you have no honor.
Shame on you.
And if I am still around in 2022 I won’t forget.
