That awkward moment when it looks like a Nazi rally.
Well we are down to 50 days until Election Day; in my opinion the most important election in my lifetime. Actually it is less than 50 days. Four states will begin early voting this Friday. Here in Florida I will receive my ballot in early October,
Of course we are in the midst of Trump’s Great American Recovery. At least according to his TV ads.
Sure we are.
We have passed 190,000 dead from the Coronavirus. You know – the one in which we had only 15 cases and would “go away.” Well the President knew, according to his on the record interviews with Bob Woodward, that this was going to be the national security threat of his Presidency, that its not akin to the usual flu but would ravage the world like the 1918 variety which killed 675,000 Americans. You can hear his words on January 28th of this year that he knew what he was dealing with.
Did he rise to the occasion of leadership. tell the people the truth and unite us on what we had to do?
Fu*k no. He played it down (in his own words) to prevent a “panic.” It would disappear in Spring. He pushed “cures.” Told his followers masks were for sissies. Suggested injecting bleach. He could have saved thousands of lives in January. He didn’t.
Instead he thought of Donald Trump and the election. Thousands could die while the economy was going to hum along. Wrong.
First of all the idea that he downplayed the pandemic to avoid a “panic” is disingenuous to say the least. He does nothing but try to spread panic. Remember the thousands of migrants marching to our southern border? Or his latest – if Biden wins he will bring in Cory Booker to destroy the suburbs. The man lives to sow discord.
While the pandemic goes on his administration supported by the odious Mitch McConnell and the Senate continues its law suit in the Supreme Court to have the Affordable Care Act nullified, which would throw millions off of their health insurance and again allow insurance companies to reject you for “pre-existing conditions.” Millions more lost their health insurance when they lost their jobs. And with little income it is difficult to pay for COBRA.
Nobody wants to insure sick people. Only healthy ones. Preferably in their twenties.
Meanwhile millions are unemployed. Last month the jobless rate fell to about 10%, a significant improvement being touted by the Great Leader. Those were the furloughed workers who got called back when their employer’s business reopened. Not the ones who lost their jobs permanently.
Notwithstanding the millions of unemployed, our Congress couldn’t pass another aid bill for ordinary workers. The present extra unemployment benefit runs out at the end of the month as the President cut the extended benefit by $300 a week for the next few months.
It will get worse. A major airline has annonnced it will lay of 10,000 employees on October 1st if they don’t get government aid. They won’t.
The postponement of evictions and foreclosure will also come to an end in several months and we will be faced with millions who will lose their homes in the midst of the pandemic. I guess our privileged leader, born with the golden spoon up his ass, figures it is better to be food insecure than living in your car.
Im sure if a mortgage debacle begins to threaten a Wall Street firm the Fed will be right there ready to print money for the needy.
And we haven’t even touched on Dyed Blond Don’s response to the racial unrest visible from streets to sports and stadiums.
I know what I saw. I saw a cop put his knee on the neck of a hand cuffed black man for 8 and a half minutes until he killed him. Four armed cops couldn’t handle an unarmed cuffed black man without killing him? I saw a cop shoot an unarmed black man in the back 7 times. I guess one shot in the back wasn’t enough. I saw a cuffed black man having a mental breakdown, lying naked on a wet street with snow falling. Rather than covering him with a coat of some sort until he could be moved they put a hood over his head. He died hooded and naked in the street. Didn’t the mothers of these cops teach them anything?
We saw a black woman sleeping in her own bed die in a hail of bullets from police breaking in to serve a no-knock warrant in the middle of the night for drugs. There weren’t any.
And yesterday 2 Georgia cops stopped a ride share cab carrying a black man and woman and their son home. They had returned a rental car to the rental company. The cab had a broken tail light. Always a convenient reason for a cop to make a stop. Rather than approach the driver, the cops approach the black man sitting in the passenger seat.
Why? Good question. The black man apparently asked the same thing. He wasn’t driving and had done nothing wrong. His question upset the cops. I guess they found his behavior “uppity.” Soon he was out of the cab, on the ground getting punched in the head until he was unconscious.
Trump has nothing to say except that the thugs and anarchists cannot be allowed to take over America. They are going to come for you in the suburbs, And of course that is exactly what will happen if Joe Biden is elected President. But he doesn’t want to spread panic.
I’m sure he thinks the armed right wing militias are “good people “and “patriots.” What they wannabe is the reborn Frei Corps.
All of this goes on while California, Oregon and Washington burn and temperatures reached 120 degrees. Hurricanes and tropical storms sprout in the Atlantic like toad stools in a moss covered crevice. But hey, y’all know climate change is a hoax right?
VOTE EARLY!!
What will come for us in the suburbs is the wild fires, the hurricanes, the floods, and who is the only head of state to drop out of Paris Climate Accord ? Trump. We can’t endure four more years of this n my and very questionable agenda.

God help you, and probably us too, if Trump is re-elected.

Everything you say is true of course. Yet 42% of your countrymen and women still think he is the best thing since sliced bread. I think they have a name for that. ‘Mass hysteria’.
As for all the rest of the problems, I think they have only just begun. The economic crash following the pandemic has yet to hit hard. But it will.
Best wishes, Pete.

Frank, your words are incredibly powerful and so freaking true. If only trumpers would truly open their eyes.
