Coffee and Stella Doro

So the weather warmed up to the mid – 70s today (24 or so for you Europeans who think in Celsius) and Toritto decided to step outside around 3:30 and relax with a Stella Dora biscotti, a cup of joe and a cigar.  I sit down, light my cigar and look up.  I have company!

Well he stood there staring, picking up the occasional morsel underground and look liked he too was enjoying the much improved Florida winter weather.

The cranes have been around behind my house a lot lately; nobody bothers them here and I guess the pickings are good.

I may start charging  them rent!

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

  1. I love the Sand Hill Cranes. We have many. Always in pairs unless something dreadful has happened, often with a fledgling. So sweet! Enjoy the Biscotti and coffee!

Nice to see the friendly crane coming to watch you enjoy your cigar. We have to make do with Robins and Blackbirds in Beetley.
    Best wishes, Pete.
