“Even Hitler Didn’t Use Chemical Weapons”

Where does one begin when one hears something that is so stunningly idiotic?

The job of the White House Press Secretary is mainly to elucidate and clarify the President’s policies (particularly when he hasn’t done a very good job of doing it himself) and to minimize the damage to the President when misspeaks.

The Press Secretary is not supposed to make problems for the White House.

We all know that Trump ordered cruise missile strikes on a Syrian air base last week in response to Bashir al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people.  The air strike actually accomplished little; the base was operational the next day.

It was a pinprick; used to get the talking heads praising Trump for “standing up for America” and to get his base chest thumping.

The President justified the attack as a reprisal for the gassing of  “little beautiful babies,” all of whom he has barred from entry as refugees in the United States.

So today his Press Secretary, Sean Spicer was taking questions on the attack from the White House press corps and in response he said that the administration is determined that Assad leave power and comparing him to Adolph Hitler.

Even the German dictator “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons.”

When a reporter asked him to clarify his remarks, Spicer responded: “He was not using gas on his own people in the same way that Assad is doing,” adding that Hitler “brought them into the Holocaust centers,” apparently referring to the gas chambers.

How does one even begin to address such stupidity?

The Anne Frank Center released a scathing statement saying Spicer should be fired.

“On Passover no less, Sean Spicer has engaged in Holocaust denial, the most offensive form of fake news imaginable, by denying Hitler gassed millions of Jews to death. Spicer’s statement is most evil slur upon a group of people we have ever heard from a White House press secretary,” the center’s executive director, Steven Goldstein, said. “Sean Spicer now lacks the integrity to serve as White House press secretary, and President Trump must fire him at once.”

I guess the use of Zyklon B doesn’t count as a chemical weapon if it is only used against specific targets at the “Holocaust Centers” rather than simply dropped from a plane.

Tell it to the gassed Jews of Germany; I guess they weren’t German so he wasn’t using it against his own people.

Add to them the Jews of France, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Austria, Italy, Ukraine, Belorussia, and Russia.

Add the Roma people, Jehovah’s Witnesses, communists and Russian prisoners of war and you have the millions murdered in the “Holocaust centers” with chemical extermination.

This person is an embarrassment to America.  I shake my head in disbelief.

I could hang around any bus stop for a morning an find a better press secretary than this moron.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

I could feel your pain here, Frank. And what sort of description is ‘Holocaust Centers’?
I doubt Spicer knows anything about history, let alone those events.
And this is the best they could get…
    Regards, Pete.
