Toritto in Eritrea – 1965
I just wanted to let you’all know that you probably won’t see me here again until next week.
Unlike many “netizens” of the virtual world, I have real “friends” and family. This old man gets invited to every holiday occasion, every birthday, wedding, anniversary, every first communion and baptism.
Once a year I like to reciprocate.
Easter is my holiday and it has been for the past dozen years. This Sunday I will have 17 family members at my place. My eldest daughter and her husband will be driving in from the Florida east coast and my youngest and her man will be here as well. Their in-laws, my in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins will be here for our traditional Easter. I’ll have 6 staying with me from Friday evening until Monday, including an infant and not counting a dog.
I cook nothing; I cater it all although my in-laws always bring stuffed mushrooms and home made Italian cookies.
We will eat too much, drink a few and for those of us so inclined, smoke some fine cigars out on the lanai. And we will remember Jean, one of our Easter regulars who passed away this year.
So I will be busy at real life this week and will be gone from the net. I will see you all next week.
I’ve had almost 25,000 hits on this blog from more than 100 countries since last Easter. I appreciate every one of you for taking your precious time to stop by and read me.
Best wishes for Easter and peace in all of our lives.
