She visits at 11:11

sometimes a.m. mostly p

A sudden haunting urges me

to look at a clock which must be digital.

Dropping by for just a moment

only at 11:11

the time, our private denouement

I look around and know she’s here

I’m standing in an empty room

aware that we two are together

so long as shine the four red ones

’til one red one turns to red two.

Comes midnight I will lay in stillness

knowing I am quite alone

no urge to look now at a clock

at twelve it makes no difference.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

  1. sojourner says:

For several years now, whether morning or afternoon, I will more often than not find 11:11 on the clock. I have read some articles that claim this is the universe trying to connect with my consciousness, and others claiming that I see it, because my subconscious has started looking for it. Who knows? I certainly don’t!

I went for quite a while without this 11:11 happening. And then just in the past few weeks it has begun again.

So your post title automatically caught my attention.

  2. Four sticks. I look at the time at 11:11 more often than odds would dictate, too. There might be a reason for it. Very strange. I have a cousin that occasionally sends me a text message at 11:11. She types “four sticks” and adds a smile.
