My Secret Admirer – Who Are You?

Toritto at 40 – in 1982

Ok.

I now believe I have a secret admirer  – in Britain!

On March 31 someone in the United Kingdom went through my archives “hitting” on about 90 of my old posts.

Today again someone in the U.K. has covered 60 or so more.

I suspect it is the same person – and don’t think he or she is a member of Word Press.

No comments.  No “likes”  Just hits in my statistics.

Ok – some of you are probably saying to yourselves “Well Toritto, none of your posts are worth a comment – let alone a “like”!

While I might not agree I would dare say that I don’t think my work is worth going through to such an extent – after all, if you stumbled on my blog by accident would you bother to read it all?  I’m assuming the “hits” maybe lead to some actual reading.

Such activity in my statistics strikes me as strange – unless either (a) the person knows me personally (I did spend time in London in the mid-nineties) and just discovered that Toritto and the person he or she knew is one and the same or (b) some security agency is looking at me!

Gads!

Let’s hope it’s just a secret admirer – and that he or she will leave a clue so I can guess!

Happy Easter (or Passover as the case may be!).

Regards to whoever you are.  And thanks for reading.

About toritto

I was born during year four of the reign of Emperor Tiberius Claudius on the outskirts of the empire in Brooklyn. I married my high school sweetheart, the girl I took to the prom and we were together for forty years until her passing in 2004. We had four kids together and buried two together. I had a successful career in Corporate America (never got rich but made a living) and traveled the world. I am currently retired in the Tampa Bay metro area and live alone. One of my daughters is close by and one within a morning’s drive. They call their pops everyday. I try to write poetry (not very well), and about family. Occasionally I will try a historical piece relating to politics. :-)

  3. Well, just looking at that gorgeous man in the picture, it is no wonder that you would have a secret admirer! Aren’t you just the handsome one! And yes, you have great material here and everything is extremely readable and interesting, so again, it is no wonder that someone is ‘archiving’ to their heart’s content!

Shelby – flattery will get you everywhere! I’m trying to throw MI5 off the track with that 33 year old picture! I forgot my hair was so brown!

      Regards and happy Easter.

  4. This is a little creepy. I’ve noticed that someone has been looking at a lot of my older posts too recently, and also clicking on many of the people who like or comment on my blog. (And I’m not as good looking or as gifted as writer as you are 🙂 )

Hey Roger – You my man are a better writer than 99% of the author’s here – but like most sites you have to read others that you like to lure them to read you – at least at first I love your stuff. Mind if I re-blog you on occasion? I’d love showing your stellar skills to my readers. I’m a shlub next to you and I’m pushing 20,000 hits in about 100 countries. Regards. Frank

Thanks Frank! Reblog anything you want. This site for me is just fun, and friends, my book and Huffington Post are where I focus on building the readership. And one of these days I will learn wordpress. I thought I had it set to get everything you write, so I will take another look at my settings. Thanks Again! Roger

  6. You are well worth those views so that UK person is getting lots of good reads! Is your admirer reading more today?

Hi Christy – Hard to tell. Seems like the bulk reading is over. Since I have regular readers in the U.K it would be hard to tell from statistics alone. Oh well. 🙂

Regards and thanks for the kind words.
